Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 3, 2026

This policy explains what RepairMe.ai collects, what we do with it, and who else sees it. We've tried to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email us.

Who we are

RepairMe.ai is operated by RepairMe.ai LLC in Texas, USA. You can reach us at hello@tryrepairable.com.

When we say "we," "us," or "RepairMe," we mean RepairMe.ai. When we say "you," we mean the person using the site — whether you're a homeowner trying to figure out what's wrong with your appliance, or a repair pro receiving booked jobs.

What we collect

Information you give us when you use the diagnostic tool

When you walk through the diagnostic wizard, we collect:

Information you give us when you book a repair

If you book a repair pro through us, you also give us:

Information you give us if you sign in or join the waitlist

Information for repair pros

Right now, repair pros don't sign themselves up — they're added by us directly. The information we publish about them (name, company, city, service zip codes, years of experience, rating) is shown publicly on the site.

Information collected automatically

Information we do not collect

How we use it

We use the information above to:

  1. Diagnose your appliance. Your description, model details, and any photo go to our AI provider (Anthropic, Claude API) so we can return a likely cause, a recommended part, a difficulty rating, and safety guidance.
  2. Match you with a repair pro. Your zip code is used to find a pro who serves your area.
  3. Confirm and fulfill your booking. Your name, email, phone, address, and upcoming availability are stored so the pro knows where and when to show up.
  4. Send you transactional emails. Login codes for sign-in. We do not currently send marketing emails.
  5. Notify our operations team about new bookings. When a booking is created, we send an SMS to our internal operations phone with the booking details (repair type, total, slot, your name, email, phone, and address) so we can confirm with the pro. This SMS goes out through Twilio.
  6. Improve the service. We review past sessions to make the diagnostic engine better and to update our parts and repair knowledge base.
  7. Keep the site safe. We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to detect bots, and we rate-limit requests by IP.
  8. Comply with the law. If we have to keep records or hand over information for legal reasons, we do.

Where your information goes (the providers we use)

We share information with these companies because we need them to run the service. They each have their own privacy practices.

ProviderWhat they getWhat they do for us
Anthropic (Claude API)Your appliance type, brand, model, error code, what you typed in the description box, the conversation history of any follow-up answers, and any photo of the model sticker (as image data). We do not send your name, email, address, phone, or zip to Anthropic.Runs the AI that produces the diagnosis and reads model stickers from your photo. Anthropic may retain what we send for up to 30 days for safety and abuse monitoring, then deletes it; they do not use it to train their models.

We also pass your booking information to the repair pro matched to your job, so they can contact you and show up at your house. They see your name, email, phone, address, slot, and what you're trying to fix.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

Mobile information and SMS

Your mobile phone number and any information collected for SMS notifications are used only to operate the booking program. We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your mobile number or SMS-related information to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. The only third party that receives your mobile information is Twilio, which we use to send the messages, and the matched repair pro, who needs it to contact you about your appointment.

How long we keep it

We keep most data indefinitely. Specifically:

Your choices and rights

You can:

For California residents

California residents have specific rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the rights to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We've never done either. There's nothing to opt out of, but you have the right to ask.

To exercise any California right, email us at hello@tryrepairable.com. We'll respond within 45 days.

We don't discriminate against you for using these rights.

Children

This site is not for anyone under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We do the standard things: HTTPS for all traffic, HSTS to keep your browser on HTTPS, no passwords stored (we use one-time email codes for sign-in), database access locked down at the row level so users can only see their own data, and our keys to outside services kept on the server, not in the browser.

We're a small team and we don't claim to be perfect. If you find a vulnerability, please email us.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when we change how we handle data. The "effective date" at the top will tell you when. If a change matters a lot to you (for example, if we ever start collecting payment information directly), we'll do our best to flag it more visibly than just bumping the date.

How to contact us about privacy

Email hello@tryrepairable.com. Tell us what you'd like (a copy of your data, deletion, a question, anything else) and we'll get back to you.

What this policy doesn't do

This is a plain-English description of how a small business handles your information. It is not legal advice. We are not your lawyer. If you have questions about your own rights under your state's privacy laws, the right person to ask is a lawyer in your state — not us.

We're trying to be honest about what we do and don't do. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
