Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 3, 2026
This policy explains what RepairMe.ai collects, what we do with it, and who else sees it. We've tried to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, email us.
Who we are
RepairMe.ai is operated by RepairMe.ai LLC in Texas, USA. You can reach us at hello@tryrepairable.com.
When we say "we," "us," or "RepairMe," we mean RepairMe.ai. When we say "you," we mean the person using the site — whether you're a homeowner trying to figure out what's wrong with your appliance, or a repair pro receiving booked jobs.
What we collect
Information you give us when you use the diagnostic tool
When you walk through the diagnostic wizard, we collect:
- What you're trying to fix — the appliance type, brand, model number, and the problem you selected. If you choose "Something else" or use the description box, we collect whatever you type there. If your appliance shows an error code, we collect that code.
- Your zip code — used to match you to a local repair pro.
- A photo of the model sticker, if you upload one — so we can read off the model and serial numbers automatically. The photo itself is not saved. We send it to our AI provider (Anthropic, see below), use the result to fill in the form, and discard the image. We do not keep a copy.
- Your answers to follow-up questions — if our AI asks you something to narrow down the diagnosis, your answers are saved with the rest of the session.
Information you give us when you book a repair
If you book a repair pro through us, you also give us:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your service address (street, city, state, zip — and optionally a unit number)
- Your phone number
- Your upcoming availability
Information you give us if you sign in or join the waitlist
- If you sign in, we collect your email address so we can send you a one-time login code.
- If you live outside our current service area and ask to be notified when we expand, we collect your email, zip code, and (optionally) the appliance type you'd want help with.
Information for repair pros
Right now, repair pros don't sign themselves up — they're added by us directly. The information we publish about them (name, company, city, service zip codes, years of experience, rating) is shown publicly on the site.
Information collected automatically
- Your IP address and browser/device type — when you book a repair, we save these with the booking. Vercel (our hosting provider) also sees them in standard server logs.
- Page views and performance data — Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights record which pages load, how fast they load, and where you came from. This is anonymous and uses no cookies.
- A random ID stored in your browser — when you first visit, we generate a random identifier and store it in your browser's local storage under the name
repAIr_browser_token. It lets us tie your anonymous diagnostic sessions to your account if you sign in later. It's not a secret and doesn't identify you personally.
Information we do not collect
- We do not take payment information. There is no card form on the site today, and we don't run charges. Pricing shown on the booking screen is an estimate.
- We do not collect anything about other people in your household.
How we use it
We use the information above to:
- Diagnose your appliance. Your description, model details, and any photo go to our AI provider (Anthropic, Claude API) so we can return a likely cause, a recommended part, a difficulty rating, and safety guidance.
- Match you with a repair pro. Your zip code is used to find a pro who serves your area.
- Confirm and fulfill your booking. Your name, email, phone, address, and upcoming availability are stored so the pro knows where and when to show up.
- Send you transactional emails. Login codes for sign-in. We do not currently send marketing emails.
- Notify our operations team about new bookings. When a booking is created, we send an SMS to our internal operations phone with the booking details (repair type, total, slot, your name, email, phone, and address) so we can confirm with the pro. This SMS goes out through Twilio.
- Improve the service. We review past sessions to make the diagnostic engine better and to update our parts and repair knowledge base.
- Keep the site safe. We use Google reCAPTCHA v3 to detect bots, and we rate-limit requests by IP.
- Comply with the law. If we have to keep records or hand over information for legal reasons, we do.
Where your information goes (the providers we use)
We share information with these companies because we need them to run the service. They each have their own privacy practices.
| Provider | What they get | What they do for us |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude API) | Your appliance type, brand, model, error code, what you typed in the description box, the conversation history of any follow-up answers, and any photo of the model sticker (as image data). We do not send your name, email, address, phone, or zip to Anthropic. | Runs the AI that produces the diagnosis and reads model stickers from your photo. Anthropic may retain what we send for up to 30 days for safety and abuse monitoring, then deletes it; they do not use it to train their models. |
| Supabase | Everything we store in the database — your diagnostic sessions, bookings, account, and waitlist entries. | Hosts our database and handles email-code sign-in. |
| Vercel | Server logs (IP, browser, page), analytics, and performance data. | Hosts the website and provides analytics + performance monitoring. |
| Google (Places API) | Your zip code, sent as part of the search "appliance repair near [your zip]." Nothing else. | Returns nearby repair-business listings if you live outside our matched-pro coverage area. |
| Google (reCAPTCHA v3) | A token from your browser and your IP address. Google sets its own cookie (_GRECAPTCHA) under its domain. | Detects automated bots so we don't get spammed. |
| Twilio | The booking-alert SMS described above (your name, email, phone, and service address). | Sends the operations-team SMS notification when you book. |
| Amazon Associates | Only what's in the product-search URL (part name, part number, brand). Triggered when you click through to Amazon. | Affiliate commissions on parts you buy. |
| Tribles / Parts Doctor | Only the brand and part number in the URL. Triggered when you click through. | Alternative source for OEM parts when Amazon doesn't carry them. |
We also pass your booking information to the repair pro matched to your job, so they can contact you and show up at your house. They see your name, email, phone, address, slot, and what you're trying to fix.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.
Mobile information and SMS
Your mobile phone number and any information collected for SMS notifications are used only to operate the booking program. We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your mobile number or SMS-related information to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. The only third party that receives your mobile information is Twilio, which we use to send the messages, and the matched repair pro, who needs it to contact you about your appointment.
We may also share information when:
- The law requires it (a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process).
- We need to investigate fraud, abuse, or threats to safety.
- The business is sold, merged, or acquired — in which case your information would transfer to the new owner under this same policy until they post a new one.
How long we keep it
We keep most data indefinitely. Specifically:
- Diagnostic sessions and conversation history — kept indefinitely so we can improve the diagnostic engine.
- Bookings — kept indefinitely as a record of work performed.
- Waitlist entries — kept until you ask us to remove yours.
- Your account — kept until you ask us to delete it. If you delete your account, your account record is removed and any past bookings or diagnostic sessions are de-linked from you (the booking and session records themselves are not deleted).
- Photos you upload — not stored at all. Sent to Anthropic for OCR, then discarded.
- Cached lists of nearby repair businesses — refreshed about every 24 hours.
Your choices and rights
You can:
- Get a copy of what we have on you. Email us and we'll send it.
- Correct it. If something we have is wrong, email us.
- Delete your account. Email us and we'll delete it. Note that this removes your account record but doesn't delete past diagnostic sessions or bookings — those are kept (without your name attached) as described above.
- Stop emails. We don't send marketing emails today. If you got a transactional email (like a login code) and want to stop, deleting your account is the way.
- Unsubscribe from the waitlist. Email us and we'll remove you.
For California residents
California residents have specific rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the rights to know, to delete, to correct, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We've never done either. There's nothing to opt out of, but you have the right to ask.
To exercise any California right, email us at hello@tryrepairable.com. We'll respond within 45 days.
We don't discriminate against you for using these rights.
Children
This site is not for anyone under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
We do the standard things: HTTPS for all traffic, HSTS to keep your browser on HTTPS, no passwords stored (we use one-time email codes for sign-in), database access locked down at the row level so users can only see their own data, and our keys to outside services kept on the server, not in the browser.
We're a small team and we don't claim to be perfect. If you find a vulnerability, please email us.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when we change how we handle data. The "effective date" at the top will tell you when. If a change matters a lot to you (for example, if we ever start collecting payment information directly), we'll do our best to flag it more visibly than just bumping the date.
How to contact us about privacy
Email hello@tryrepairable.com. Tell us what you'd like (a copy of your data, deletion, a question, anything else) and we'll get back to you.
What this policy doesn't do
This is a plain-English description of how a small business handles your information. It is not legal advice. We are not your lawyer. If you have questions about your own rights under your state's privacy laws, the right person to ask is a lawyer in your state — not us.
We're trying to be honest about what we do and don't do. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
